Welcome! Shaza here
So, you’re curious about me…
I live in the stunning Shropshire countryside with my soulmate, a houseful of imaginary characters, and an outdoor space blessed with wildlife visitors. My passions include gardening, research, travel, walking, anything scientific, food, and of course, writing.
My background in cooking and food technical management has introduced me to various aspects of writing over the years. I learned recipe creation; designing work procedures; writing: schedules, reports, food safety and quality manuals, food product and website copy, due diligence documentation, and training programmes.
How can I help you?
I craved a change from the food industry and studied creative writing at the Open University. In 2008 in my quest to find other writers, I stumbled across a hidden gem – a residential writing school full of budding and published authors. Swanwick, The Writers’ Summer School hooked me from the first conference. My ongoing connection to this wonderful community is always insightful, rewarding and fun.
Yet, I yearned to belong with my writing chums and not feel like an intruder. I even served on the committee, but something was missing – I craved to give back even more of myself, but how?
Boom! Lightbulb moment. Why not blog about our eloquent craft from my own perspective (along with fellow thought-leader friends), and share it all with you? Now there’s a fun challenge.
Creating this website has fed me a quickfire learning spike and whipped away my comfort blanket daily. It’s been a rollercoaster ride with flashing lights and knobs on, but I’ve cherished every moment. Phew! My writing desk sighed as the chaos of clutter faded and Writing Craft Blog took shape.
I wish to share my experiences with you.
Hopefully, this website will also hit the sweet spot for your wants and needs.
Enjoy.
